IBEW Local 196 provides many different career options. New members are able to join the ranks as either a:

• Groundman or
• Groundman Truck Driver

After these individuals have gained experience and successfully completed certain trainings or apprenticeship programs they may upgrade their classifaction to

• Equipment operator
• Journeyman
  • Lineman
  • Cable splicer
  • Signal Technichian
  • Substation Technician

Interested applicants must sign on to Book 4 in order to be considered for employment.  Book 4 sign up must be done in person at the Union Hall.
