NEW CLASS Dates December 11
This will be a 1 day class 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Class is at the Union Hall Meeting Room for 10 people,
must be Journeymen or Apprentices 4th step and up.
The purpose of the training is continuing education for all individuals associated with
distribution systems. The level of training gives a wide variety of personnel operational data
and an understanding of transformer theory. All distribution systems have different
construction standards but the principles and theories are the same. The attendees will study
single and three phase connections, build transformer banks on a simulator and test voltages.
The course also covers safety procedures of lockout and tag-out, minimum approach and
transformer identification of hazardous chemicals.
















MOD I:

We have limited room for people in this class which is
set up for the first week of Dec.
This class is a tape splicing class for straight splices
and stress cones.
This is the first module of five hands-on cable-splicing courses. This module covers hand-
taped splices and termination’s. The course presents information on several types of cable
splices. Most have high voltage applications; however, many of the splice technologies are
used in all areas of electrical installation. Information is presented from different
manufacturers of cable splicing materials.

MOD II:

This class is for tee splicing.  Must take MOD I first.
This module covers several methods of terminating cable, Hand taping Tee splices, and
Protective Grounds. The hands-on exercises include the construction of a 5kV and 15kV
termination and 15kV Tee splice. Materials are presented from different manufacturers of
cable splicing materials.
*The Cable Splicing Module I is a prerequisite for the Cable Splicing Module II.



MOD IV

The students were trained on 14 different terms,
elbows, and splices.  With intense teaching from one of
the first NCSCB Certified cable splicers in Illinois.
This class is for kit splicing.  Must take MOD II first.
Saturday class will only be 6 hours.
This module covers termination and splice kits. The course presents information on several
types of cable splices and termination used in the field today. Materials used are from
different manufacturers of cable splicing kits. The kits include cold and heat shrink
applications kits.

IMSA Level 2
We had 20 people in class, Thanks to all for making this
class successful. This training is so important for those
who work on the Signals and Lighting in Illinois.
You need to have Work Zone Safety & Level 1 to take this class.  This class is for Traffic
control patrolman.  The state of Illinois requires this certification to work on control cabinets.  
This class should be taken for anybody in the Signal Apprenticeship or for those that are
working on Signal lighting.  This is also for recertification.  If you need this class please
register on line.
