We can have 10 people is class so sign up now.
This class is put on by the NJATC and will soon be mandatory for workers to have to work on
wind farms.  As the growth of wind farms grows in our area and others we will see a growing
need for more qualified workers to build wind farms.  This class gives you the ins and out from
the towers and generators to the collection grid and substation.  You will splice high voltage
cable to cad welds.  Don't miss out on this opportunity.

Class is at the Union Hall Meeting Room for 10 people,
must be Journeymen or Apprentices 4th step and up.
The purpose of the training is continuing education for all individuals associated with
distribution systems. The level of training gives a wide variety of personnel operational data
and an understanding of transformer theory. All distribution systems have different
construction standards but the principles and theories are the same. The attendees will study
single and three phase connections, build transformer banks on a simulator and test voltages.
The course also covers safety procedures of lockout and tag-out, minimum approach and
transformer identification of hazardous chemicals.

This class is a tape splicing class for straight splices
and stress cones.
This is the first module of five hands-on cable-splicing courses. This module covers hand-
taped splices and termination’s. The course presents information on several types of cable
splices. Most have high voltage applications; however, many of the splice technologies are
used in all areas of electrical installation. Information is presented from different
manufacturers of cable splicing materials.

MOD II:

This class is for tee splicing.  Must take MOD I first.
This module covers several methods of terminating cable, Hand taping Tee splices, and
Protective Grounds. The hands-on exercises include the construction of a 5kV and 15kV
termination and 15kV Tee splice. Materials are presented from different manufacturers of
cable splicing materials.
*The Cable Splicing Module I is a prerequisite for the Cable Splicing Module II.



MOD IV

The students are trained on 14 different terms, elbows,
and splices.  With intense teaching from one of the first
NCSCB Certified cable splicers in Illinois.
This class is for kit splicing.  Must take MOD I first.
This module covers termination and splice kits. The course presents information on several
types of cable splices and termination used in the field today. Materials used are from
different manufacturers of cable splicing kits. The kits include cold and heat shrink
applications kits.

IMSA Level 1 & Work Zone Safety

This class is for understanding traffic control and the process that needs to be done to work
on state highways in Illinois.  You need this class before you can take Level 2.  This class is
also for recertification.  We have room for 20 people so sign up today.

IMSA Level 2

This class is for recertification also.
This training is so important for those who work on the
Signals and Lighting in Illinois.
You need to have Work Zone Safety & Level 1 to take this class.  This class is for Traffic
control patrolman.  The state of Illinois requires this certification to work on control cabinets.  
This class should be taken for anybody in the Signal Apprenticeship or for those that are
working on Signal lighting.  This is also for recertification.  If you need this class please
register on line.

IMSA Roadway Lighting Level 1 & Level 2
Class dates are coming soon
This is a new class that addresses roadway lighting and gets you up to speed on national
standard in maintenance and construction.  No other union is providing this for free so sign up
today.







OSHA 10 T & D

This class is be coming mandatory across the country
you need to retake this class every 5 years.
This class is 2 days to complete the 14 hours of training.  This was put together to address the
needs of linework and the differences in the industry compared to other construction work.  
You will be issued a card from OSHA with a class date and number to show that you have
completed the training.  Sign up today to make sure you are compliant.

CPR/ First Aid
Watch for class dates to be posted.
You need to have you CPR renewed every year and First Aid every 3 years. Please sign up as
soon as you can so we have a good count on each class.  We will be have CPR/ First Aid class
quarterly coming up to help build a safer work force.

Albat will be hosting training and testing in 2012 for the NCCCO on
March 26-30 & April 30-May 4.  Call Albat at 800-223-9339 for more
detail.

If your looking for work please come to the union hall and sign the
books.  You have to be on the books to get a call for work.

IBEW 196 and 9 will be in need of JRY LINEMAN with
CDL A, this work will be all over ComEd system on
OH, URD, and possible T-line. Work will be 40+. The
work will slowly come over the year.

The City of Savanna contract is open and we have started talks.

The Batavia Streets contract is open and we are in talks.

We have opened Geneva Electric, Village of Richmond PW, and Dixon
water contracts.

Flagg/Rochelle park District is done with a 2 year agreement.

Make sure you keep up your resign.
